Approved for Surgery!!!
Last Friday, I was sitting at home bored and I thought, why not give BCBS a call to find out the status of my insurance approval. The doctor's office told me on my last NUT appointment that typically 2-6 weeks is the timeframe for approval. Well, I called and was told that it was approved on April 1st. ( I know April Fool's Day, LOL) Letters were mailed to my doctor with CC'd copies mailed to me. I received the letter yesterday and called Blue Cross to make sure. Now I have to get an appointment with Dr. Richardson for a pre-surgery consult and a surgery date. Hot Damn.
I could actually be starting a two week liquid diet Tuesday of this week or the next. Dr. Richarson only sees patients for consults on Tuesday afternoons, so I am going to try like heck to get in next week.
This Cowboys fan will be bypassed before training camp, God willing.

Awesome news, Cowboy! I'm very excited for you. I'm sure things will move swiftly for you.
My best,
Frances

It hurt something awful, but the Spencer Redskin Chief has bowed to pressure and showed some support this year for the Saints. We saw a lot of Cowboy fans at the parade and I managed to keep him out of any fights.
We are crazy excited about Donovan going to Washington. I don't think we got the respect he deserved in Philly and, no offense, I think he can take your boys, old or not. It's going to be a great season of expectations and drama.
I am very excited about your journey. It's going to fly by. In less than a year, I've lost over 100 pounds and my hubby dropped a whopping 70 of his own. We have comtemplated weight loss surgery for him, but were waiting to rebound from the cost of mine.
Life has been full of fun, energy and excitement for me. In this next picture, I have the same shorts on from my first signature picture below. In my first picture, I'm in a Size 28 jean shorts. I tried to grab them this week to run outside and I couldn't manage to keep them up. I'm in pretty thick and solid, but somewhere between 18 and 16.
There's a lot of debate on the steps we take to get thinner, but when I read my normal blood sugar levels or see the "ONE" medication I take daily, I know I will live longer and be there for my precious little one until she is an adult and can take care of herself.
Victory ... in our lifetime, my brother. We will have victory on this side as well as the other side.
Peace and cheers!
Frances

OMG, you have two legs in that one pants leg. I had to look twice, I thought you only had one leg.
You are really doing it well.
And anyway, you are right. McNabb never got the love he should have gotten from the Philly faithful. I remember that draft and how he was booed. They wanted Ricky Williams and if you compare the two careers, I'd say Philly got the better deal. I don't think he'll help the Redskins much, they have a lot of needs, but I think you guys got yourselfs two wins over Philadelphia for sure. I'll be rooting him on for those two games.

Maybe we can get together and watch the Eagles-Redskins games. Football-watching is a big deal in our little household and I had to teach my little one "Hail to the Redskins" quickly after she accidentially screamed "How Bout Dem Cowboys" after watching Jerry Jones on TV when she was about 3. As you can imagine, there was almost a request for a paternity test after that slip up.
I see your date is coming up fast. Are you prepared with supplements and a variety of liquids for the first couple of weeks? Having a variety of warm or hot soups to alternate with the jello, pudding, and other cold stuff is a good way to keep from getting bored.
By the time you get to mushies, smooth chili and gumbo or soup with crabmeat and chopped shrimp will be good options.
I sauce it up with herbs and spices and I try to keep the sodium low. My big Redskin gained nearly 150 pounds in his first decade down here, but I'm proud of say that he's lost 70 pounds in the last year. I must say, however, that one gets "really good service" when you dine with a 350-pound dude in an NFL jersey. Most people think he's an aging football player they just don't recognize.
Ha .... nuff said.
Let me know how things are going with the preparation and keep those spirits and goals high.
Onward,
Frances

I am happy for you Cowboy! I see you had BCBS of louisiana, I also have that as well. Was wonderng how long it took and what hoops you had to go through to get approval. I am having my first consult tomorrow and very nervous, I hear BCBS does not cover it, but my boss just got approved and he also has the same BCBS as I do. I am praying for approval! so happy for you!
