Blue Cross Drs and VSG
I know more than likely it will involve appeal but I am wondering what BCBS DRs do the sleeve in the Lafayette area? I used Dr Borland but he does not take it and I have 2 friends wanting to try to get it approved before they go as far as cash pay

My friend has BCBS TX and LA and i did notice that Dr Bellenger in BR has one covered by BCBS of TX so hopefully she ahs luck there. She is willing to appeal several times

have you tried Dr Stevens in LAF...I had the DS on 8/13/09...he is wonderful

Do you know if he has had luck with BCBS TX or LA for the sleeve? I see you have had the DS and sometimes approval can be different

Emily- BCBS TX now covers sleeves. BCBS Of LA has no coverage for any bariatric surgery. If you friends are local, tell them to call Dr. Gachassin & Dr. Eschete's office in Lafayette. They have an excellent program .
thanks! I called her and she is checking today! Hope she does not have a policy that excludes WLS
