This surgeon is out on medical leave until spring.  He does WLS and accepts LA state insurance.  YIPEE   

The office is creating a waiting list for future patients.  Just have your PCP fax them a letter and follow up with a phone call.

I work for the State of LA and they do not cover any weight loss surgery.  Is this the state insurance you are referring to?

They are referring to Louisiana State Medicaid program. Until the recent budget cuts, I was covered by the office of group benefits also.

Thanks for the info - that's interesting ----anytime Medicaid pays for something, it is usually cause Group Benefits does also.....

Dr. Steeb's license has been suspended.

No one knows if or when he will return.  This is the 5th time his license has been on the line.

This is a bad referral.

There is a post on the main board with more specific information on why he has been in trouble -- drug and alcohol abuse that impairs the central nervous system and therefore put his patients at severe risk and/or injury.
