Hi!

Hi everyone! I met a sweet lady in Target today that told me about the Louisiana message board. I wanted to get on and say hello. I live in Gonzales. My surgery is set for Feb. 1st and it couldn't get here fast enough! Im having the RNY. I've been on the 2 week liquid diet for a week now and its really hard. Dr. Hausmann is my surgeon. Sometimes I just wish I could have a grilled chicken breast or something.

Ok a little about me..I'm 33 yrs young and I've been overweight for a while. My starting weight when I started the liquid diet was 356.8 as of today it is 353.4. One week to go til my surgery and I hope it passes by fast! Can't wait to meet all of you Louisianians!

hello there jus wanted to say good luck with that sugery hope things goes fine with it and good luck with losing that weight me myself trying to lose weight jus joined a gym here in town gonna try to stick with that for awhile so how things go with that hopefully does me some good. well thats all i gotta say for now have a good day!!!!!!

Welcome! I had a VSG 2 weeks ago and am doing great. You will be fine. I must say, the hardest part is the liquid phase! Everything else is a piece of cake.
   

Hello,  I guess we can welcome each other since I am new here as well.  I am in Covignton and am considering WLS.  I have done a lot of research but still have 1 million questions.  VSG vs DS.  If anyone has any experience with the Southern Surgical group especially Dr. Lavin or Dr. Warden, please post.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, Dr. Warden is my doctor. I went with VSG because I didn't want any malabsorption issues.
I am TOTALLY happy!! Two weeks today and I've lost 18lbs. I feel great and the surgery was a breeze. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Best of luck with your surgery.  I am scheduled for VSG on tomorrow.  I can't wait.  I have already lost 14 pounds during the liquid pre-op.  I have to admit, that after the first week, the liquid diet really isn't that difficult for me. That was until my husband grilled steaks.  WILLPOWER!!! 

Dr. Hausmann is my surgeon also.  I really appreciate the time that he takes with you to make you feel like you count.  I never feel rushed.  His assistant Josette is really helpful also. 

Yea I really like Dr. Hausmann and Josette is a Godsend.  I lost another lb today! but not losing as much as some people have on the liquid diet. I wonder why? Im sticking to it. Its a bit frustrating but Im gonna be ok. I have a sinus infection and bronchitis right now. Went to the dr today and they put me on antibotics. Im hoping everything clears up before surgery. I don't want them to postpone it.

Welcome to the board... i love this site its amazing... my surgery is in april and it seems yrs away lol.. anytime i have a question i just hop on here and post it and i get it answered shortly after. i have 0 support at home so i come here when i need it. the people here are amazing. my mom and dad died so i just dont have that person that tells me everything is o****il i came here... anyways welcome and you will not be disapointed.
