Shreveport LA. Anybody use Dr. Barnes (Husband and wife)

Hello everybody! 

I am a newbie!!!  I am having RNY at the end of December with Dr. Barnes in Shreveport.  I have been considering the surgery for several years now, and have finally decited to do it!  I am completely excited, but so emotional as well...  I am a single mommy of a 2 year old, and I know that I need to not only do this for myself, but for my daughter, so that I will be around for her, to watch her grow up, and be there for her.

I have read LOTS of sites information, and think I know what to expect, and have read lots of reviews on Dr. Barnes, but I wanted to see what you thought of them 1st hand?  I have had nothing but a WONDERFUL experence so far.  They have all been so nice and caring!  

Any advice will be welcome as well...

Hi I havent used Dr Barnes...But i will be seeing him for my future follow up Im one yr post op from RNY. I actually had to post pone my surgery to mid to late January, due to some complications with my EGD...  But I am totally okay with it!!!  WOW, so how has the past year been for you?  I am scared about the changes that are going to happen, but I know that they are for the best!!!

Thanks for replying,  I love the BARNES!!!  They are really great, and very knowledgeable, and so sweet.  The whole office staff has been great so far.  I never felt safer in somebody else's hands!!! 

Ha this is almost exactly a month to the date too late to reply..so sorry for my tardiness. Im doing great tryin to learn the shreveport area and things to do. Ive been here four months and havent made any new friends yet..the woes of military life i guess. Im tryin to get in to see the barnes' because I havent had my one year followup..But they want to see a surgical report from my surgeon in Ohio...that was a pure nightmare trying to obtain military surgical report..but i got it. And will be faxing it to them as soon as i get a chance. Im so glad you told me how u felt about them. That makes me feel alot better. I hope all has been with w/ u so far for the new year....take care

Hey Re.

You should come to the support group meetings at the Barnes office.  Its the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6pm.  I just attended my 1st one last month, and I am SO digging all the support, and you get to meet people face to face, that have BEEN THERE DONE THAT!!!  :-)

I used dr Norwood and love him. they are great. I had sugery on july 13 of last year and 2 friends of mine had theirs within months. i work at the att call center on dee street....lol and live in south bossier.

Hey Kaylee's mom...I've just joined the site a couple weeks back.  I had my surgery on Feb 17th and was at the meeting last week. I will be there this month as well. Should we wear nametags? lol I hope you're doing well with your weight loss...I am down 31 lbs after 6 weeks.
