Dr. Reddman & Surgical Specialists

 Hi,

I'm new and was just approved by my insurance for RNY!  I had originally requested Dr. Lavin but I was told that he was outside of my network and they have placed me with Dr. Reddman.  Anyone here use him?  I have read his profile on the whyweight website but that is basically all the information I can get.

Would love to hear experiences with SS as well.  My first consultation is Sept. 30th and they told me to expect a November surgery date.

I am confused how Lavin can be out of your network but Redmen in your network. They were both in my operating room 16 months ago and I have zero complaints. Don't be surprised if you have Lavin in your surgery - they work together.  That practice does not do the surgery without two surgeons in the room for the procedure.  It is there way to have piece of mine they are giving you the best services. 

 I am confused too!  I think it is more likely that Lavin is booked and Reddman isn't ... at least that is what I was told by another patient.  She waited 4 mos longer because she insisted that Lavin do her surgery.  I didn't ask questions when they called and am waiting to meet Dr. R before I make a judgement.

Dr. Redman did my sleeve surgery 04/16/09.  I have lost 105 lbs. since then.  Dr. Redman is AWESOME!!!  Due to some other underlying health problems, I've had some complications the past few months with developing Gastritis.  Dr. Redman has been by my side the entire way.  I could not ask for a better doctor.  He almost feels more like a friend to me.  Out of all of the doctors there, he is the only one I would let operate on me.  He has the best bedside manner out of all of the doctors and he's wonderful for your aftercare.  Don't have any fears or second thoughts about him.  He's wonderful.  I need to have an ovary removed and i'm going to see if he will do the surgery since he is also a general surgeon.  I had my surgery done at the hospital in Slidell since I was cashpay.  The Surgical Speciality Hospital in Slidell is wonderful.  I spent 2 weeks there last month and they catered to my every want and need.  I had a friend stay with me and they catered to her also.  I highly recommend Dr. Redman and the hospital in Slidell.  Good luck with your surgery.  You will do great and you're in AWESOME HANDS!
