Has anyone out there had lap-band or Realize done by Dr. Sartor in Monroe?

I had my surgery 5/18/09. I was told in consultation that fills would be "as-needed" depending on how I do with diet and when I feel hungry, etc. The $14,000 I paid them covered free fills for the first three months following my surgery. So, any fills performed after 8/18/09, I must begin paying for.

Well, I had my first fill in early June and am just now beginning to feel like a need another one. So, just like I did last time, I called and told them I'm feeling hungry a lot and needing a fill. They tell me that they don't have time to do it until 8/10/09!!!! That's a month away!!!! AND I won't have time to get another free fill before my three months is up!!!!

Is this normal?! Am I being completely unreasonable that I paid them $14,000 of my money to have something done and they can't find the time to give me something I need that I already paid for?!

I am just so incredibly angry right now. Dr. Sartor has been wonderful and I'm doing great with the surgery, it is the best thing I've ever done. I just can't believe that I'm running into this problem. If I had ANY idea that it would be like this, I would have set up a fill every 4 weeks after my surgery just in case I needed fills, but I didn't think I would have to do that.

I just don't know what to do. Situations like this are why patients give up on the lap-band and don't get their fills and gain weight back! It's sorry and it's pathetic!

I know that they are very hard to get an appointement with.  Takes a few weeks, but I am sure if you call Rena and discuss this with her she will help you as best she can.  Call her and see.  I love their office and their staff, they have always been wonderful to me.  Good Luck.
