hours away from Surgery! Hair Loss?

Well it's time been waiting long enough. But as the hour nears I am so nervous. I know Jesus will be with me in surgery. I have a lot of people praying for me so that does give me some comfort. I can't wait to come back home and come and give an update to my surgery and then I hope I can be of help to those who are waiting for their surgery. I hope I can give them words of encouragement just as I have recieved.

I know there are several people who lose their hair after surgery. But they say it grows back. What is the time frame we are talking about here? How soon do you start to lose your hair and then when does it start to grow back? Can a few people give me input as to that.

Hi Lennie....Let me put on my thinking cap.....I started losing my hair at around 5 -6 mos maybe...itlasted until around 9 mos....I had a lot of hair very thick , I am now almost 7 yrs out with again a very thick head of hair...curlier than ever...but, I do from time to time still lose a little here and there...Take your vitamins... some people swear by biotin... Good Luck

Thanks for the encouragment. I am taking all my vitamins and am getting in all my protein so far. I am hoping that if I can get in all my protein for the day in that I may not lose that much hair. I am only a week out and sometimes it is hard getting in the protein but I know I must try to take in as much as I can.... I think I never had so much protein before even when eating real food! LOL

We will see about the hair.
