DOC AT LSU IN NEW ORLEANS TAKES MEDICAID

it was pretty simple i was surprised i've been trying for so long and i went in there and when he walked in i told him what i wanted and he said that i could get the gastric sleeve. i told him i was waiting to hear the bad news... what reason i couldnt get it and he was like no you can get it. He's very nice he sat down and listened and made sure he left room for any questions i had but i was so excited i couldnt think of anything. now i have tons of questions.... he said that i would have to go get blood work and i did that they are now getting medicaid approval and i am hoping nothing stops medicaid from approving. the doc and devin his nurse said it should be approved. i have to see a psych on dec 2 thats the soonest they have and i have to see a nutritionalist. i am excited but scared to get too excited it just seems so unreal that its really gonna happen....anyways ill keep updating as i go so maybe anyone going through it will have some idea of what will happen next

Well, I had my appt. with Dr. Steeb on the 23rd and had my blood work done yesterday, I have my psyc appt. on Nov. 25 so all im waiting for is the appoval letter and my dietician appt. Im also getting VGS I am also on medicard. Im praying that it gets approved and all goes well. Im very scared that something is going to get in the way. I would lov eto have some buddies on here. Im scared , excited all at once. ;)

Does anyone know if there are now accepting medicare for the sleeve also?

i dont know if dr steeb accepts medicare, but a friend of mine used dr lavin (office is in covington and slidell) she has medicare!

And that was for the sleeve?

no not the sleeve she had gastric bypass

 Does he do it laparoscopic?  Just curious i go back to work in Jan i would love to have it all done before then but that is wishful thinking i am sure. but cant a girl wish......

he told me it's all done laproscopic. i asked about it being done vaginally, he siad after 2 c sections and a husterectomy i would have to much scar tissue to do it that way.

Yes, it is laparoscopic and im not sure about the medicare!!
