Hi! I live in Walker and I feel like I know all of you, after reading these 14 pages of posts. I am praying that each of you will have your surgery. I found a Dr in Mexico that is running a special right now, 5200 for the sleeve. There is also a dr in New Iberia that charges 9800 + preop testing+hotel stay.  I thought I wish I could get the sleeve done in NO, but I have already bought my plane tickets and passport. I don't have medicaid either. I don't know how difficult it is to get medicaid. The insurance company we are with strictly excludes all WLS. It is through my husbands job. Otherwise it is very good insurance, I don't want to complain about it, just wi**** covered WLS. I have been looking at the sleeve for almost three years now. In 13 days I will have it done in mexico. I will do my very best to post as soon as I can and let everyone know how it went. My husband is going with me, he is awesome beyond words!!!
Duh.... My name is Wendy, I am 37, happily married, I have 6 boys and one little girl. I was always thin growing up, but after my second son I started putting on weight. I have a heart rythym problem now called RVOT. I need to lose about 110 pounds. I really feel like this surgery is meant for me, and it is right to do it. I was getting scared, but I just feel such a peace about it now. Everything seemed to fall in place. Our income tax refund is lots bigger than ususal, My baby is a little older, my husbands work schedule is right, the plane fell out perfect. It just seems right. Although I can't sleep for thinking about the surgery :)   I haven't been to sleep yet, and it is 5 in the morning! The baby is crying. TTYL  Wendy

Savanna I know just what you mean about not talking people to death about the surgery- this board really helps a lot with that!  I would love to get together crazyduck. I used to work in Gonzales! honestly I am a little scasred of mexico. It does seem like there are a ton of good reports, and my husband is going with me, and we will be just a few minutes away from a major American hospital. It is just so expensive over here. I do feel more confident of the mexican docs skills, just because he has done so many of them. The dr in New Iberia hasn't done as many sleeves, but he has been doing weight loss surgeries for YEARS. And I have  a heart condition, so I would feel better in a hospital over here. I wish to heavens my insurance would cover this, I would go to Womans or the lake without a second thought.    11 and a half days away  AGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so YAY! i heard from lisa and i am on the list for the new nutrition class!  big yay!  so this is the final piece of the puzzle.  i am trying hard not to read too much into things.  it's like i told my dad...if it is meant to happen for me...then it will happen...if this is some just big cosmic joke to get me in the right state of mind to start losing it on my own...then so be it.  i've found my way out of my negative hole...i actually went out and got a nice haircut worked on my house today!  instead of wallowing in my misery like i am prone to do.

and now...all i have to say is GO SAINTS!

and btw...i never did receive a letter from dr. steeb.  weird huh??
