DOC AT LSU IN NEW ORLEANS TAKES MEDICAID

She didnt call me either so not sure whats up! Let us know when you find out something. I had my eval yesterday and the therapist says im cleared for surgery. Said I was a very happy and stable person and said he sees me going a long way with the help of surgery. He was a very nice man aswell. So now I just need to finish up my dietitian lessons and wait for approval and im set. WooHoo......

did you have to come out of pocket to get your evaluation or was it covered by medicaid? i'm asking because i heard someone say it was $200.

Medicaid paid for it. Easy questions really. About your eating if you over eat emotional eating anxiety. Are you depressed how was your child hood. Do you smoke or drink. Do any recreational drugs. Typical questions nothing to be nervous about. Remember these three words. Spell world backwards. Some questions were like hmmm really. What are getting from me speeling the word world backwards. LOL Although when he asked me my age I told him 25 and it took me a min and I was like no 29. Duh I felt like a jack ass. LOL  Nothing to worry about.

Well, Im not sure whats going on but, I got another denial letter from medicaid and its states the same thing reason code 611 co morbib conditions. I will put in a call to Devon on Monday. Anyone else get one today???

 i hate to  be a nay sayer.  but if you have no co-morbid conditions...then medicaid will not approve the surgery.  it becomes a "vanity" surgery if you don't have co-morbid conditions.   no surgeon will "slice you up"  if you don't have reasons for having the surgery.    and as a person who has dealt with the "charity" system .... sitting in a waiting room with anaphylactic shock complete with airway closure...for 2 hours...if you don't have the biggies like hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, or in my case, venous stasis....you won't get approved.  to medicaid it is more like  a plastic surgery if you don't have health issues.    Crystal, i am not trying to burst your bubble...but, if you don't have any health problems...you most likely,   won't get approved.
