A WONDERFUL surgeon in New Iberia, LA

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a surgeon in New Iberia, LA that does the VSG surgery. His name is Dr. Thomas Borland. He only charges $9.300, whi*****ludes the surgeon, assitant surgeon, initial consultation, surgery center, and anesthesiologist. I went for my initial consultation on February 16, 2009 and my surgery was February 25, 2009....that's right.... 9 days later!  If you live out of town, he requires you to either stay with someone local or at a local hotel for the days following surgery because he visits you for a few days after surgery.... thus keeping his costs low by not requiring you to stay in the hospital. The best part is that he has a wonderful bedside manner. He is very re-assuring, and he has a great way of helping you to feel at ease. His staff, and the staff at the surgery center are all top notch as well. You can't get better care anywhere else.  But don't just take my word for it... check this out.

I agree with you totally!  I loved him.  I am willing to talk to anyone looking to use Dr Borland on the phone.  I think it is great that we have a surgeon here in LA who can do a great job and still give you a better price than the MX doctors.  Especially with how dangerous MX has become. 

I am so glad your surgery went well and yes, Dr. Borland is GREAT!!!!  I was so excited that I found him because I can tell you this....I would not have been able to pay the $15,500 - $16,500 doctors were asking here around Baton Rouge...just could not do it.....The 1.5 hour trip was well worth it as well as the follow up visits.  I am like Emily Rose.....if you have any questions just email me with your phone number and I'll be more than happy to talk to you about this great surgeon

I am so thankful that SouthernLynn sent me the info on him.  I absolutely loved him.  He sleeved me in November and my son will be sleeved on April 14th by Dr. B.  He really saved us lots and lots of money.  I owe ya SouthernLynn!

Do you know if he accepts Medicaid?

Cash pay only for the sleeve.  Sorry when I asked him about it he told me that they only want to pay a fraction of the cost and it just is not enough :(
