Hi,ive had my fostor son for  7 months now,he is 2 and we where told  before he was placed that it was a high likely hood  that we could adopt him.His mother has not workd her plan  at all and  expressed the desire to terminate her rights. The family they  checked  on in begining where  not able to  pass a homestudy  is what we wher told. There is a grandmother that is wanting him now,but she  is older and has a long history of dateing and associateing with excons and drug users.Today I was called by  the bmom and told abunch of stuff  such as  the grandmothers attorney is getting her approved,of course it  upset me,im only human. We  pray everyday for  him to be able to stay with us,our home is the best place  for him,its the only consistincy hes had in his life.Right now GOD is my only hope and babys attorny told us yesterday that she cannot see how any of the relatives would pass the   background checks and homestudys, she has a long history  with these people. So she knows of there backgrounds and such.                                                    SueElla

Best of Luck with this situation, hopefully it will work out, it has got to be the hardest thing to do, live with the UNKNOWN, will he stay or will he be taken away. Takes a strong family to foster children, may God Bless you and your foster son.

I will pray for you.  My DH and I plan to adopt in a few years and I may be in that same situation.

I am so sorry that you are going through this.  My husband  and I went through the exact same thing.  We are also in Louisiana.  Our little Corey was given to us at birth and we were told that there was no way that his grandmother could get him and that the parents were not working their caseplan.  OCS was on our side.  The grandmother got an attorney and unfortunately we lost him at 8 months old.  We were the only family that he had known.  He was just beginning to babble Mama and Dada.  I cannot begin to explain to you the devestation of losing our son.  I know that we were told of the risks in the beginning, but you just cannot turn off your emotions and not bond with a child.  It is impossible.  Faith is the only thing that has got us through this actual hell on earth.  In March it will be one year that he has been gone.  Just last month, I was able to refer to his room as the nursery instead of Corey's room. We are now signing with an agency to adopt.  I am so sorry that you are being faced with this. I will pray for you.

if you don't mind me asking which adoption agency are you going through. because my husband and I are planning to adopt but we don't know where to go or who to go through. It like there's so much information but no one wants to tell you anything

Sue,

I'm so devastated to hear of this and to respond so late. I don't know how I missed it earlier, but I'm just seeing your message now. Scott has been sick and had to stop working and baby is having some issues at school and I've not been online as much.

Please know that I am praying for y'all and I will be checking back to hear from you.

You, my heart, are a warrior of great faith and endurance ... stay strong.

Onward,
Fran
