Hunger, what is that?

I am 6 weeks out tomorrow from lap rny, I have lost 48 pounds. I do love my surgery, I have cheek bones again...lol... but I do get frustrated sometimes b/c I want to be the best at my recovery & my new lease on life as possible, I workout for 45 min to  1 1/2 hour, 4 to 5 times a week or more I still can only walk or ride my bike. But my problem comes to food, water, protein intake the thing I get in everyday is my vitamins. I have NEVER got in my total amount of intake of water, food, or protein. It is not my lack of trying it is that everything GROSSES me out when I think I want something I will make it in hope that I will eat but no luck. I have tried lots of protein shakes, protein bullets, protein bars, etc....everything taste like crap b/c you have to chew it twenty times or I puke. An the more it grows in my mouth the more I don't want to eat. Yesturday, I ate 3 small pieces of watermelon, and a stick of cheese, so my protein intake was 5 grams, water intake was 20 ounces. Some days I do eat a LITTLE more but not much & this is how it has been going. DO any of you go through this or have gone through this. Sorry about the ramble!
      Thanks, Katherine

I too struggled with protein intake and I am paying for it now.  My hair has thinned dramatically and continues to fall at almost 8 months out from surgery.  Honestly, I made the decision to live with the hairloss because I could not stomach the protein supplements.  I would do my best to get protein via food but even with that I was not able to get much in at the beginning.  It continues to be a struggle for me to remember to eat my protein first.  I am a fruit and veggie girl and would much rather the cabbage than the ham.  You are not alone - just remember there are reprecussions from not getting the protein in - I just chose to live with those reprecussions.

I struggle as much as you do darlin! I try to get as much as possible with food. Eat cheesesticks, chicken, shrimp, and fish as much as much as possible! It's just really hard I will agree with you 1000% on that one!

I struggle getting in my protein as well.  But you really need it.  Have you tried doing the protein shots?  I know they taste horrible but you can get it down quick.  It is medicine you body must have so get some in however you can.
