support group near Monroe???

First post as new member, am planning on having surgery in OK. Pre-op requires joining a support group. Anyone know of one in Monroe, LA.?

Hi, what kind of surhery are you having? I had the vertical sleeve on Dec 3. The closest one I know about is in Alexandria. Let me know if you find one. Take care, Joan

Hi Gina, I went to Gonzales La right out of Baton rouge. I wanted to use a Dr that had done a lot of rnys and sleeves. He has done over 1000 rnys and over 500 sleeves. I feel great so far . I have already lost 20 lbs and i will be 2 weeks out today. He charges 14665 for everything and has bliss ins coverage that covers you if you have any complications for 30 days. thats included in the price. He also does the surgeries in Lafayette also. Are you using him for follow-up care, or are you going to find a local doctor? Since my surgeon
is in OK. He wants me to find someone here to do follow-up and tests, and send him the results.

Hey, He told me to come back in 2 weeks. but Imgonna go after X mas. I just started seeing a new doc in Monroe. My family doctor passed away. I guess I will make a trip to Baton Rouge but if I am not having any complications, which I have had none, I probably will not go back but a couple of times. Take care, Joan
