hi,
i live in vernon parrish, I am going to try to come, if I can get a sitter. Who is your surgeon? dr. chung is mine. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago, and i'm almost sorry I did it... Dr. chung says that is normal. I don't know.
everything I eat makes me sick.
do you drink the protein shakes? if so do you like them?

Hi Heather,
My surgeon is Dr. Spiegel. The first few weeks can be tough and you often will question your choice of having the surgery. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to receive support. I don't drink very many shakes and when I do I don't drink the ready made proten shakes. I make my own. I have a list of protein shake recipes that you can have. I hope to see you on Thursday.

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
Dr. Chung is also my surgeon ... and I love love love him! I am scheduled for this Friday and so far, the nerves haven't kicked in yet.
Are you sorry now because if the discomfort? If so, I imagine that will pass as time goes on and then you will be soo very happy you did this.
What surgery did you have? I am having the sleeve.

Hi,
well, I like dr chung too, I think he is a great doctor. I had the gastric bypass, and the main reason i regret is that I do not even feel like a human being. the first 2 weeks, I was in a lot of pain, which is normal. But now, i'm on semi solids (dr chung said I could have a salad this week) I hate the protien shakes, and everything i put i my mouth makes me sick. I dont mean to be a downer. I sound like it. I am definely not at the point where I would recommend this surgery to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Dr chung says that everyone regrets it at first. I also had my gallbladder removed which is part of the reason why most food makes me sick.
I wanted to have the sleeve too, but my insurance didn' cover it. My cousin just had the sleeve , she's lost 67lbs since the end of aug.
good luck
Heather

Heather I hope you are feeling better today. Just wanted to say hi and let you know it does get better. The first 8 weeks were the worse for me, after that I could definitely see each day improving. One the nausea, try drinking hot to warm peppermint tea, it helped me tremendously to settle the pouch down.
