Storm checklist and check-in partners

We learned a lot of hard and fast lessons during the period three years ago that I called LaKarita.

If you evacuate, don't forget enough vitamins and supplies for at least a week. Red Cross meals are not bariatric friendly and lots of people got iron and vitamin deficient while others found that sandwiches just don't go down easily any more.

Don't forget the C-Pap. If you need replacement parts or accessories, check in here. Someone might be able to help.

If you have complications, do *everything* to find a bariatric surgeon if your problem is bariatric-related. We have friends and partners all over the South and the doctors are great about pitching in to meet the special needs of the bariatric community. if you need the name of a doctor ___(anywhere), post or contact me and I'll get you a name and contact number.

If the worst happens (again), check in here for shipments of supplements and supplies. There are some folks who helped before and we want to make sure everyone is "ok" through this storm.

We have people in Southwest Louisiana being affected as well as Southeast Louisiana. I plan to stay put here in Greater Baton Rouge.

Please try to give us updates on how things are going. I'll be posting daily and if anyone PMs me, I'll provide a cell phone number for check-ins and requests for supplies.

Let's stick together and pray together.

All my best,

Frances

God's Blessings to you and everyone on this board!

Bless you, Tberry,

Adopting one person who might have been displaced or recovering from damage is going to be a great gesture. We are still being held hostage right now, but I expect tomorrow people will come out a little more and access the damage.

I'm in a parish (county) without power, but we walked into Home Depot yesterday as the associate was saying "hey, this is the last generator!"

I will be in contact shortly.

Thanks,

Frances
