post-op vertical sleeve gastrectomy

for those who had this done, how long before feeling good to go back to work (demanding work, on feet all day).  I am planning one week to recover. 

From my personal experience, I don't think you'll be ready to go back to work after 1 week.  I was able to go to a 3 hr class 3 days after surgery, but was really exhausted when I returned home.  I couldn't imagine being on my feet for 8 hrs just one week out.  I would say take at least 2 weeks if possible, or request that you be allowed half days for a week or two.

I haven't had the surgery but I went to a seminar the other night and the surgeon mentioned one should take leave for at least 2 weeks for the surgery but up to 6 weeks for some.
