Hi all,
I'm pretty new to this forum so I wanted to officially say hi to everyone. I'm planning on having my surgery done with the Surgical Specialists of Louisiana group in Metairie. I know they have support groups in a few towns but I wanted to get to know the folks that go to the meetins at the Sheraton in Metairie. I went to the information seminar on last night and saw several wonderful people and I would love to start getting to know you guys so we can go through this journey together.

I go to the support group meetings held at the Omega hospital each Monday night. Now that school has started and my 6 year old needs help with homework in the evenings, I am not able to go as often. My goal is to make one meeting a month. They really are beneficial and an accepting group of people.
Hope to catch you there sometime soon! ~Clinell

Hello Clinell,
I didn't know you had a 6 year old. Me too ....well, in about a month. School has me stressed.
We should talk or maybe do something where we can visit while the kids have a playdate.
Keep up the good work!

My niece will be six on Friday. She is not biologically mine, but I have had a hand in raising her since she is 3 days old. So yep! I claim her. She also loves a playdate. As soon as I feel confident in how I look in clothes from Lane Bryant, I have plans to head to the outlet mall in Gonzalez, maybe we can meet up then. I will keep you posted on my plans.
Hello Angie,
My name is Shannon and I live in Metairie. I am 12 days post op. I have the gastric sleeve. I have had a rough few days but I am feeling much better now. I had no time to rest w/ hurricane and evac. I am also new to this forum. I have not been to a support meeting yet but look forward to going soon. Best of luck to you.
