Hey this is what I did....on this OH page to the top left corner click on Medical Conditions and click on Diabetes, you can read all about everyone who has it or had it., Good Luck. I have it too, and I have surgery on 9/23.

Since my RNY my blood sugars are totally in the normal range. I've not had blood sugars over 140 (after eating) since surgery. I wake up and the blood sugar is 89-100. Pre-surgery I'd wake up with 300's and during the day it would easily hit 500's HgA1C pre-surgery was 14-15 now 7-8! Big changes and I take absolutely NO diabetes meds now.

Euince71 pointed out on the main forum that "Buffalo Hump" (accumulation of dorsocervical subcutaneous adipose tissue) is associated with Insulin Resistance. That goes away too post surgery, Just a little FYI.

I had gastric bypass in July.  My sugar was staying at around 145 on meds.  Would go to 185-205 if stressed or any changes.  My A1C on 10/15 showed an average of 104.  My Dr. says I no longer have diabetes.  I have been off all meds since surgery.

Thanks for the reply. I am still going through the pre-op paperwork. Hope to post a success story soon.

Iwish you the  best of luck.  It has not been a bed of roses, but I can now say I would do it again.  May God bless you.  Although I don't know you, I will be praying for you.
