Anyone here from Alexandria?
Linda,
Thanks for checking on me. I had surgery on the 2nd... got a staph infection and had to stay 2 extra nights. Feeling really weak but much better than I was! :-)
Gastric sleeve is where they remove 80 - 90 % of your stomach. No re-routing of bowels, etc. My brother had gastric bypass in 2006 and I decided that I would rather do this procedure.
I work at the VA so I am in Pineville everyday. I am going back to work on Wednesday... at least that is the time line I am shooting for! :-)
Thanks again and it is great meeting you!

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
Faith,
You should join the Gastric Sleeve forum. Lots of folks there had the lap band and did a revision to have a sleeve done. No refills, no slippages, etc. Low maintaince.
Basically, they remove 80 -90% of your stomach. It leaves you a small stomach that holds very little and is hard to stretch back out. Low mortality rate... almost nil.
If you want more info... email me back.
