Hello Louisiana Family!  I feel like i'm a horse of a different color.  I am a revision patient with my own set of issues.  I had lap band in 2005 then a revision to rny Dec. 2007.  I was told and i am experiencing being a SLOW loser. I don't know how if I can go any slower.  I need to have  my bottom in a living breathing support group meeting asap!  Please let me know when the next meeting in the Metro Baton Rouge area is going to be. I see I missed the meeting today on the 15th of April. Will there be any others in April??? If not is there anybody that wants to meet at a coffee shop??? I'm desperate!! Thanks

Hello Ebony, I'm sorry that we missed each other recently. I've recently had band removal surgery and went right into a horrible case of the flu. I missed our early April meeting because I was running a very high fever. I really, really need to make it to the next and I'm considering visiting the Woman's Hospital meeting in the next couple of months. Please note that both the meetings at Woman's Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake are now open to all bariatric patients. We have had some patients from other practices and even other cities recently and all seems to be going well. You are truly welcome. The next New U meeting is May 1st and I think the group at Woman's meets weekly ... somebody help me, is it each Wednesday at around 6 p.m. I plan to talk to the bariatric coordinator at Woman's tomorrow at noon, so I'll post or PM you tomorrow with more details. I know we still have each other's numbers, so let's try reaching out again. The fates just seem to keep giving us more and more things in common. Talk to you soon, Frances

Ebony - how are you doing? I hope to see you at a meeting soon, Frances - did you find out about the woman's times and dates?

Hey, superstar....y'all home!!!! I wish I could have dropped in on your today, but "poof" y'all newbies don't hang around the hospital as long as we used to in the "old days." A support group meets each Wednesday at 5:30 at the Wellness Center on Jefferson Highway. The next New U support group meeting will be May 1 and I will be there come hell or high water. How ya feeling?

Ebony,
How are you?  I had band removal and revised to RNY as well. Mine was 4-1 and i find i am not loosing as fast as many others either. I keep saying just be gratful for the lbs that i lost and keep your chin up. Do u measure? Can it be inches ...We have a support group here in Slidell the 2nd tuesday of each month...I know it is a long way!!

Good luck to you
