Pre- Op Questions

My surgery is in 5 days...wow it is coming fast. I am doing the liquid diet with 4 oz of protein for dinner and i have horrible stomach ache . I feel like i did after my lapband when they blow you up with gas. I have been full of gas...... Has anyone had this with protein shakes. I am wondering if a certain shake may not be agreeing with me?  Also i hear many people talk about bowel prep before surgery, is that something that all dr's do or is it hit and miss? Not sure if i missed it or not? Is anyone having surgery in Slidell on this day also? Terri

CONGRATULATIONS and Good Luck!  I don't have a surgery date scheduled yet, that is the same hospital I will be at when I do have surgery.  I can't wait to read about your experience there.  Again, good luck!! Oh - I did the shakes and didn't have problems with gas. 

Great! Do u live around here? Luckily i only live about 10 minutes from the hospital so Dr Warden says if all goes well i may be able to go the next day!!!  This hospital is great! Clean and all of the staff is wonderful. Everyone who works here is hand picked by the doctors who own the hospital. They were all employees of the doctors and selected by the doctors to come to the hospital. It was an amazing experience both times i was there as well as my daughter!!!. Let me know when you will be having yours and maybe i will be able to come meet you when youare feeling better:)

Unfortunately, I don't live near Slidell, but it is where I will be having surgery.  I live in cajun country - but I am self-pay and that hospital covers procedures due to complications for 18 months post surgery, so it is best choice for me.
