Anyone doing the CCC this weekend? It's a great race and one of my favorite of the year. The course is nice and flat and runs through downtown New Orleans through mid-city to City Park. Team 464 (www.team464.com) will be represented and I hope to see you there!

With what you have accomplished in a past few weeks, this run should be like an enjoyable stroll through the park.  Enjoy your run!

I'll be there!  The race is secondary to the party at the end. . . ~Erin

I'll be there (walking) wearing my bunny ears! Are you wearing No. 464? I'll look for you (although you may be long gone by the time I finish!) Jen

Yep. I'll have my racing jersey on and have exactly the same gear on that I had for the Mardi Gras Marathon.

I'll look like this:  http://www.team464.com/dedication.jpg

Although I probably won't be crying.  :)

I ran the entire course. . .more like a military shuffle by the second half.  My final time was 1:17:54, with 12:34 pace.   My three goals for the race were: (1) finish under 1:20, (2) do not get runner's trots, and (3) escape Tad Gormley before hearing Cowboy Mouth play "Jenny says" more than once.  I'm happy to say my running partner and I accomplished all three.  And the Abita Strawberry never tasted better. . . How was your run?

Cool.  Great job!  The CCC never fails to dissapoint as being the funnest race of the year.   Quite a few times on the course a smile crossed my face as I passed someone wearing a costume or an unofficial 'aid station' tried to hand me beer, hot dogs, wine, coffee or donuts.  :)

I set a personal record and reached another one of my goals by finishing in 52:49.   My goal was to finish in 55 or less.   I would have done sub-50 minutes but unlike you I had a blowout at around mile 4 and I had to stop at the pot-o-gold.   Note to self, Indian food the night before a race is a bad idea.

Congrats again.   So what's next?  Half-marathon or a full marathon?

I started out between a chicken and a couple of fairy princesses.  The chicken left me in his dust, but I lost the fairies somewhere on Poydras.  I really love whenever I feel like I'm a part of the city, you know. . . Atta boy!  Way to push through to the finish, even with the bowel mishap.  By next year, you will be guaranteed a CCC print. . . The Mardi Gras half-marathon is my next long race (PLENTY of time to improve my time), but I will continue to run at least one race per month until then.  I'm hooked. I know  you are working towards an Iron Man. . . Is that the biggie?

Yeah.   I have a quarter Ironman in Texas this weekend and a bunch of other short courses over the next few months.  My first 70.2 Ironman will be in New Orleans next year in April.   The following weekend will be my first full Ironman course in Arizona.  Probably a little crazy to attempt that but... well... I'm me and I know I can do it.  :)  After the toughest April of my life I will hopefully be able to get in the lottery for Kona, Hawaii for the Ironman Championship series in October 2009.  That's the big daddy.   That's the one that is on TV.   I now have 12 months to train for Airizona and 18 to train for Hawaii.  :)
