My husband and I went out to eat Monday night at Roc's and I was charged full price for the buffet, approx. $22.00, that is until we spoke with Fletcher, owner/manager about enjoying the food and that we use to eat here when the restaurant was "Big Daddy's Restaurant".  My husband said he hadn't had enough to eat, but I had eaten too fast or something that I did eat didn't agree with me and we have to leave early.  I told the manager I am not able to eat much or certain foods since I had gastric bypass, and that the food was great.  He said he has family members that have had one or another type of gastric surgery.  He then changed our ticket to charge me a kid's buffet price instead of full price.   I spoke with them today and asked if they didn't mind that I posted that they were a Gastric Bypass Friendly Restaurant, and they said it was o.k. Places like this are great! I don't eat out as much as before surgery but I do like to enjoy a meal out with friends and a quiet dinner with the hubby.

People from my support group in lafayette said that when they go to buffets before they are seated the talk to the hostess or manager about being charged for a child's plate because of surgery and they said to my surprise that most places will do that. So I guess you just gotta ask :D

Yes, I guess you have to mention it, but there were so many restaurants we have been to that won't charge any different, for me, that we just stopped mentioning it, and just paid full price, until Monday night.
