After i had my lapband done, i could not eat crawfi****hought i was going to die. They clogged me up so bad it took hours to puke all of it out(sorry:) Well i then took crawfish tails, chopped well(not soupy, just small pieces, like 2 pulses of a processor or blender) take them put into pan with a tad of olive oil sautee well with garlic and onion, and green onion, after about 30 minutes add 1 can tomatoe sause and corn starch salt pepper etc. i put it into a pie shell then bake until golden brown for the shell. The crawfish go right down and i get full as a tick with just a few bites. Some days i take a few bites of the shell it seems to kill sweet cravings for me. Now sure if thes will work when i get the revision done, but thought i would share! I am in Slidell, anyone near me?

I am 6 months out and I eat crawfish 2 or 3 times a week. Crazy thing is before surgery I didnt eat them hardly at all, just wasnt crazy about them. Now I love them and honestly would eat them everyday if I could.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

I eat crawfish... but sometimes the spices get to me.  I'm 23 mos out.  I still have some trouble with spicer  foods.  I also still dump on greasy foods and cannot tolerate bread.  I guess it's just a person to person thing, like so many other issues with this surgery.

I think our boiled seafood obsession is a real plus to us. Seafood is very low fat and high protein. Win/win situation for us. I didn't like spicy/hot food too much before surgery. Now, I've learned to cook my food with a lot more spices and I actually add a little cayanne pepper to most foods. I crave the spice since I can't eat much. I warn you to stay away from the carbs. I have not lost weight since November when I started eating carbs. (I did lose 6 lbs. in February, but I was sick.) I'm now researching the South Beach Diet to learn how to eat only good carbs and see if I can start losing more of this weight. Very upsetting.

Hi Clirishu, I have been eating crawfish since I was 2 months post op and I tolerate them well. I did research it first, and I know that  it is an excellent source of protein, it is low in carbs, and the cayenne pepper is also good in helping to boost your metabolism and improve your circulation. Check it out!!  P.S Just be mindful of the sodium. Do  Enjoy!!!!

Me and my band LOVE boiled crawfish!  They force me to eat slow and I don't feel like I need to use anything else to fill me up.  I feel like I am eating like everyone else when crawfish season rolls around!  YUM-O!

Hey Kajun -- I think it's worth the shipment. Tony's in Baton Rouge ships around the country. So you can eat the first batch and put the rest in individual baggies in the freezer. They are wonderful on pasta, potatoes, as a spread or dip and let's not forget salads. I hope Yankee Land is treating you well. Frances
