Hi everyone in LA I had RNY in 2002.  I lost all of my weight but i am gaining some back and I am up to 175!!!  I went to a surgeon yesterday to talk to him about a possible revision, but he wants to check my stoma and pouch size first then we will see what to do......does anyone know anything about the stomaphyx procedure as far as being done in LA?  I checked on the revision board, but I thought I would also check with the LA board too. THanks in advance Lorri

Hi Thanks for the info above..... Well, I am not going to lie to you, I HAVE eaten the wrong foods from time to time but for the most part, I do try to stick with proteins, good carbs etc.  I never drink cokes with sugar although I admit I drink diet coke.  I feel like I eat too much and that I get hungry way too soon.  So of course, I eat.  I am really trying to stop and say to myself, am I hungry or is this just head hunger?  Most of the time I feel hungry and that makes me upset. ....then, being upset, I eat. Bad Bad cycle, I know. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks Lorri

Uh, BTW, duh...I didn't even tell u this part!

I have been doing the 5 day pouch test and I can tell that I am full on much much less food....

SO,i am going to try to keep up the plan of eating protein first and so on.

I can't believe I forgot to tell you that part!

I did hear that the 5dpt really works. I just had my RNY on tuesday. My doc was Tom Lavin. He is wonderful. If you pouch test doesnt work try and contact him. Also, do you have any deficiences?

Well, I wouldn't know about deficiences as my surgeon never provided ANY follow up labs.  I have been on my own in the department.  I am going to go to my PCP for bloodwork to check all that stuff. I am supposed to see a doc in Dr. Warden's group for an endoscope.  I am going to have my pouch and stoma checked for enlargement.   If there is enlargement, then I am going to look into Stomaphyx.  Thanks again for your help! Oh, BTW, congrats on your surgery!  Man, I was in the hospital sick as a dog for a week after my RNP!  You are able to use a computer????  That is awesome! Lorri
