Alexandria???
Hi,
I am sitting at my desk right now in Alexandria working. As the other told you, not much to do in Alexandria. Zoo is nice. Great golf course Links on the Bayou, but we have had so much rain the ground is soaked. Kent Plantation is located about 2 miles from I49 off the north McArthur exit. A very large casino about 40 miles away in Marksville...has great entertainment at times. Natchiotches is about 40 miles north of Alexandria, straight easy drive on I49, great town, Steel Magnolias filmed there. Very old town with lots of charm and very tourist catered!!!!
Natchez Mississippi is a little over an hour drive east of Alexandria, another great old town with lots of plantation homes on the Mississippi River. It to caters to tourist.
What type of things are you looking to do? Several theater things....go to this web site might help some.

Let me know your interest and I will let you know of what the area offers.
It is a great place to live and raise a family. Not too big or small. Thought you was just visiting. Great school system. Pineville side of the area is really growing as well as the other rural areas within 20min drive to Alexandria. Be sure to explore the outer limits of the area....Woodworth with Indian Creek Recreation area, Kincaid Lake area out Hwy 28 west, again Pineville side. Interstate 49 connects Shreveport and Lafayette a 2 hour drive.
