My first triathlon, set for next weekend in Dallas was cancelled today because of bad weather.   No idea why they cancelled it because the weather in Dallas is supposed to be nice next weekend.    Oh well...    Gainesville in two weeks I guess for my first tri.   It looks like I will have to get my fix with the Mardi Gras Mambo for next weekend now though.   Anyone else doing it?  They have a 10K and a 1K run / walk.    More details at their website below...

No, but I'm doing the Mardi Gras Marathon (5K) in New Orleans at the end of Feb. It will be my first race in ages. I'm not sure if I'll be running at all--it depends on how my training (and my knees) hold up. Actually, reading your posts about races is what got me looking into it--so thanks!!! Jen

BTW, I grew up in B.R. and actually ran in the Great River Road Run of 1980!!! Do they still have that one? I believe I still have the t-shirt. My daughter "borrowed" it though (vintage t don't you know).

Hah hah.  Yeah I remember the Great River Road run.  I don't think they do it anymore or if they do they don't advertise it.

My main focus right now is the Mardi Gras Marathon next month.   I've been training hard for it and will be running the full 26.2.

I'll look for you there (although I'll only be doing 5K)!
