Hey everyone has anyone had a hernia in the lower part of your stomach near between  your intestines and bladder area. Well I am asking because I went to the ER in Covington tonight and they said that is my problem why I am hurting there. I have to call Dr. R. Monday or Tuesday unless I start hurting more or feel my intestines sticking through and I can't get them back in. Sabrina

Hello Sabrina! First, sorry to hear about the hernia, but wow, what a great new picture! Anyhoo, I'm some what of the hernia queen in these woods. I've had six hernia-related surgery since having bariatric surgery, but none of them caused or worsened because of my Lap Band surgery. When the intestines get caught in the hole, it's called stragulation. Pain, vomitting and fever can happen. I've been in a lot of pain from time to time and bells should go off if you can't relieve the pain, can't keep down food and your fever surpasses 101 degrees. My sister just had a hernia repair that had trapped bladder as well as trapped intestines -- major pain. You have my prayers and if you need to chat hernia, look me up. Take care, Frances

Sabrina--Sorry to hear you're having problems. If the pain gets bad enough again to seek help, I would recommend driving into the Ochsner ER. When you get there, make them call Dr. Richardson. Either he or one of his interns will come to the ER and you'll know you're being treated properly. I don't think I would trust the hospitals here. But that's just me. Good luck and keep up informed. Thanks Jen I am thinking about going over there if I start hurting really bad but I am going to call in the morning to find out what they want me to do. I should have just gone over there in the first place but didn't know what was wrong so I just went local. Sabrina
