Not quite up for it yet. . .  I'm a little intimidated.

It's easy and I think the cutoff time is 17 minute miles.   You could walk it in less than 17 minutes per mile. :)

I finished in 53 minutes which is right around 8.5 minute miles.   I slowed down towards the end a bit because the sun came out and it got really hot.   They gave out medals to the top 500 finishers so that was pretty cool.

The Mardi Gras Marathon and the Elmwood Classic 10K is coming up next month along with a few triathlons in the next couple months too.  Should be fun.   :)

You are a machine, Chad!  Fantastic finish. . .   My running buddy and I are planning to do the Mardi Gras Mambo in BR on 1/26.  1 mi Fun Run and 10K .  It is part of our 1 race per month goal. Also, have you been using the stadium at all?  Since renovations began a couple of weeks ago, I haven't had as much luck with sneaking in.  To thwart my escapades even more, they changed the gate locks, so now I can't even squeeze between the gaps. Again, really good job. . .you should be rightfully over the moon about your successes! ~Erin

Cool.  I didn't even know about that race.  It wasn't scheduled on the race sites that I visit.  I don't have any races on tap for that weekend either so I'm definately doing it.

I ran stadiums once last week but not at SLU.  I snuck into the Zachary High school facility and ran them there on New Years Day.   I'm gonna try SLU again this week though.

I'm gonna be joining the gym at SLU for a couple months so I can swim train before North Cypress opens their new facility.   I'm afraid that I'm gonna drown in the swim leg of the next triathlon I do if I don't start swiming nowish.

Club South Runners is one of the sites I frequent for race announcements. I like Southeastern's pool. . .it gets the job done and rarely do you have to fight with wayward children.  Are you an alum?

Yeah.  I'd love to just join the pool for a month or two though.  You think they would allow a pool membership only?  North Cypress should have their new facility open by then and he will have an olympic size pool.

I answered my own question today.   My workout partner and I both signed up for Alumni memberships today and although the swimming pool is technically now part of the workout gym monthly membership fee he seems to think that all we need to do to get into the pool area is show them our SLU Alumni ID.   Do they make you swipe anything when you go to the pool or do they just make you put your ID in a basket or something?   He thought all you had to do is put your ID in a basket and they really didn't check it like they do when you go to the workout gym.   They were closed today and I have no idea what their hours are when schools out so we couldn't test our theory today.

As far as I know, as long as you have an SELU ID, you are golden.  They are not set-up for swiping IDs in the pool area. . .and so, "anybody" can go. . .in practice.  If you use a DL, they will check the system to check membership status.
