Referral?

To see the weight loss surgeon did anyone have to have a referral letter from their PCP? I'm confused about that. Thanks!

I did.  I have Tricare Prime, and it is required.  I believe that it depends upon your plan, though.  Who is your insurance company?

I have Humana PPO and they didn't really specify on a referral letter....not sure though, some people say they have to have one and others don't...why can't all of this just be the same for everyone process wise? Kind of hectic! Thanks!

When you make your appointment with Dr. Richardson they will have you give them all your insurance information and at that point the people in the insurance dept at Ochsner will tell you if you need a referral or not. Actually you have to give them your insurance information when you call to reserve your spot for the seminar.

Yep, I remember having to give them my insurance info for the seminar, so they should have that already. Thanks!
