MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

ForMedicare to pay for bariatric it must be performed at an approved faclity. I am planning on using Dr. Walter Sartor and he has been approved. You can find this list under centers for medicare and medicaid.

Dr. Walter Sartor, monroe, la is taking medicare now; he can be reached at 318*998*7313; i will be having rny on 10/19/10; and have a medicare replacement plan thru universal healthcare as my insurance; hope this helps someone

Thank God for this web site!  I called EVERY number that I could find that offered the lap band surgery and I could not find any one that would take medicaid.  The only place that will take medicaid is Tulane Medical Center. The office number is 504-988-5301.  Their fax number is 1-504-988-5301.  You have to have your primary care dr. send them a medicaid refferal before a appointment can be made.  So have the refferal sent then call. 

The other Dr's that people wrote about on here no longer take medicaid.  Osner in New Orleans will take it as a 2nd insurance.  I'm going to call the medicaid number tomorrow and give them their number so when people call they will be pointed in the right direction.  They are the ONLY place in Louisiana that will take medicaid for the Lap Band surgery.

 How did it go on your first appoinment with Dr. Bellows? And does he require a six month supervised diet if u have Medicaid
