MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

I am confused do they do the sleeve or Bypass?  l have a friend looking so would really like to know

Emily, they do all the surgeries. However, Medicare does not cover the Sleeve. It only covers the LAP Band, the RNY, and the Duodenal Switch. As for Medicaid, the last I checked, Louisiana Medicaid does not cover weight loss surgery at all. If you have Medicare Primary and Medicaid Secondary, it WILL pick up the additional 20% of the costs as well as the co-pays and premiums. If this information has changed, please let me know so I can update my knowledge database! LoL God bless you all and good luck with your journeys!

I have the same problem with my knees my doctor Billings told me that 2day I have 2 get referral I'm calling my doctor 2morrow

Hi, I am new to this and not real familiar with the whole process yet.  Even after reading all of the posts, I still had trouble finding the doctors at Southwest in Lafayette that accept Medicare.  So I will be attending the seminar on June 2nd (required before Medicare will consider approving you).  I had to do a lot of research to find the doctors so I thought I would make it easier for anyone searching near Lafayette.  It is the offices of Dr.'s Chu, Stevens & Cunningham.  Their address is 2810 Ambassador Caffery.  Their direct phone number is (337) 408-4800.  If you are on Medicare, you have to call them to schedule the seminar before you can proceed any further.  Hope this helps ease the search for phone numbers for someone else.
