I HAVE A SURGERY DATE!!...AND A QUESTION
I thought I already posted this...but I guess not. I'VE GOT A DATE! I will be banded on Dec. 5th...just in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, my office Christmas party is the night before, and it looks like I will be sipping on some protein shake or broth....HAHAHAHA! I'M ALREADY MAKING SACRIFICES! My question is - after you get past the clear liquids, how do YOU get your proteins in? I know about the powders and stuff....but is that what you guys do? stacey
They will give you some nasty Pro-Stat which has around 8g of protein per tablespoon or two. You could choke that down or try to do what I did (and still do) which is mix a scoop (25g) of protein powder in 4oz of water, blend it in my magic bullet cup blender and then shoot it like a shot. To this day I still get in 150g - 200g of protein in per day using that method. I hate the way it tastes... actually I hate the way ALL powdered protein tastes, but I approach it as wanting to 'get it out of the way' and go on with the day.

I've tried them all and thankful that most companies will let me buy samples. The only one that I have found that I can tolerate, out of the literally hundreds of brands I've tried, is the GNC bannana cream. It's got a good protein ration (25g per scoop) it mixes reltatively easily with or without my magic bullet and I can shoot it without gagging. I don't "LIKE" it but I tolerate it.
If I could get all my protein in with steak and chicken I'd do it but sometimes I have to compromise and that powder does the trick. :)
