VSG done now I am home

Everything went well on Friday morning.  I came home on Saturday around noon.  So far the only problem I have is the gas pains.  Any suggestions to help get rid of them faster?

Hi Karen! Congrats on your sleeve!  I'm so glad that everything is going well! Walking is the best way to relieve the gas pains...  and a heating pad for when you are resting. Come by the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy forum...  there's a bunch of us there if you have any questions!!!

Keep your head up. I had my vertical sleeve on June 15th, I was actually the first that Dr Chung preformed at Women's & Childrens so it was a learning experance.  I have lost 42 lbs so far, and I feel so much better.

Hi Karen: Congrats on your successful surgery.  I knew you are in good hands with Dr Chung.  The gas pain is quite normal immediately after surgery, from what I gather in his support group.  Go to the support group and ask around, and its usually the 2nd thurday of the month.   Hope to see you there.  Jen

What time is the support group and where is it at?

I lived on gas x strips for the first month and walking (didnt walk much, but did the best i could)..  I was the only sleeve patient at the support group meeting...Just about everyone there has the gastric bypass ( there were a few lap bands)....you all need to be there...LOL

No, you dont have to bring anything...You just sign  and weigh in......I found it very motivating!!

hey Karen, i am having mine Oct. 31,07. yes holloween morning. and i am very excited that you feel well. so many stories out there, that they did not do well the first week or so. and i am so excited there is hope that i will do as well as you. good luck on your journey and rebirthday.. hugs, linda
