Is there any one out there that has any suggestions on weather I should fix my liquid dinner and eat before I fix the rest of the families dinner or should I wait and eat at the same time. Thanks, Karen

 Thanks,  Karen

I'm five days out of surgery, and believe me , the two weeks before surgery were definetly the hardest. I was very thankful that my husband was offshore for the whole two weeks. But  the thing I did was drink a protien drink before I went in public, just in case I ran into food and the hunger pains would scream at me. Good luck with your surgery. It'll be here and gone before you know it.

Thanks for the reply.  How are you doing post-op?

I like eating as a family and keeping liquids phases in the meal routines. I think it's good for children to eat with their parents even if the parent is drinking food preop.  Any postop liquid meals will be easier because you won't want to eat anything for a while. If you can have hot/cold as well as savory, sweet(ish) liquids, mix them up and have a 2-3 course liquid meal and enjoy your QT with the family. All my best to you, Frances

Thanks for your reply.  I like having the whole family together at dinner.

Hey Karen, Okay here is what I did during my 2 wk pre op phase.  I would fix my protein shake and drink it while I was cooking.  Because I am one of those people that taste what I cook.  So that prevented me from sneaking a bite and I wasn't hungry either.  Then when it was time for the family to eat.  I would just grab a glass of water and drink it while they ate.  I know it is sometimes very hard!!  There were several times I thought of sneaking a bite.  But I didn't and I am so proud of myself for sticking with it.  I would just tell myself, and trust me it was severl times a day.......Okay you are having this surgery.  It is a life change and if you cannot do what your doctors tell you over this 2 week period then what are you going to do after surgery when there has to be changes.  I know it is hard, but look how far you have come!  You can do it and it is going to be great!!!!   Hope some of that helps!  You are almost there!  Hang in there!    C ya on the loser's bench!!  Saving you a seat!!
