I don't think I've ever posted on this board, but I guess I should stop in more often... 1. What type of surgery did you have? Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy 2. How much weight have you lost? 102 total, 80 since surgery 3. How long ago did you have your surgery? 4 months ago today 4. Do you find that people treat you different, now that you have lost the weight? Not really.  I still have a hard time seeing it in myself.  But there are people close to me who notice the change and I think I am treated slightly different, but mostly because I think higher of myself now.  It's more a reaction to my newfound sense of self...  It's nice.

1. What type of surgery did you have? Lap Band 2. How much weight have you lost? 110 lbs. 3. How long ago did you have your surgery? 2 years ago 4. Do you find that people treat you different, now that you have lost the weight? Those who have known me for a long time don't treat me any differently. But, as far as strangers are concerened, I do get a lot more attention from men and more women smile at me as they walk by.

1. Lap Roux En Y Gastric Bypass. 2. at 7 months postop, down 113 lbs!! 3. March 7, 2007 4. Yes I do feel like those who knew me before treat me different now. Actually I think that people perceive my newfound assertiveness as hostile, and that kinda hurts. I'm not that kind of person, but I think that people are very sensative to my finally setting limits on what I will and will not tolerate. As for those that didn't know me before, the generic reaction is also different, though much more positive... People often actually listen to me instead of discounting me because I'm morbidly obese. I get a lot more glances and "second looks" from men, and that was just surprising for me... I never expected that to happen even with the weight loss... I've always believed I'm just unattractive, despite others disagreements.
