1. What type of surgery did you have? lap gastric bypass 2. How much weight have you lost? All together from the liquid diet -- 63 lbs.  -- 47 lbs. since surgery 3. How long ago did you have your surgery? May 23, 2007 about 4 months 4. Do you find that people treat you different, now that you have lost the weight? No one ever tells me that I look different, and I don't feel really different. I'm not working right now, so I'm really not out in public a whole bunch, but I don't believe I would be treated any different because I don't look any different.

My answers: 1. RNY Gastric Bypass 2. 133 pounds 3. Almost 4 years  4. And I do not think people treat me any differently.  Maybe because of my outgoing personality and great family support, I never felt that I was ever treated badly.  I must say though as a single woman, men definitely treat me different.  It makes me take a step back and think if I was still 291 pounds would he still speak to me???? That is my only problem.

1. RNY gastric bypass 2. 93 lbs. total (13 lbs. pre-op) 3. Jan. 22, 2007 4. Yes and no. The people I know treat me the same. Strangers seem a little nicer but that might be because I'm a little more outgoing (I always was outgoing), but now I feel less like I want to be invisible. We have to be very careful not to put all of the blame on others if we're treated more nicely after surery. Have you ever noticed the difference on people's faces when you look at their "before and after" pictures? That's what the world is seein and reacting to. Does that make sense? Jen

Thanks so much for the honesty you all have sharing this information with me. I think that as I have lost the weight I have become more outgoing and less of a wall flower. I think that is why people treat me different. I find that actually I like being thinner, because people can see the real me -- who has always been there. I am so glad not to be the wall flower anymore! Thanks for the answers! Titania
