Dr. Rachael Moore or Dr. Redmann

Hello ,                         Anyone with any information on Dr. Rachael Moore or Dr. Redmann of Surgical Specialists of Louisiana?  Please share. My Cigna insurance has only those two in network for bariatric surgery.  I originally wanted Dr. Lavin.  But I can't use him unless I want to pay out of pocket.   I appreciate any and all info or advice.                                                                                                            Blessings

I had my lab band surgery done by Dr. Lavin four days ago.  I was having problems with my chest and back (which turned out to be gas from the surgery) and I called their office to speak with the physician on call.  It turns out that Dr. Rachel Moore called me no longer than two minutes after I hung up the phone with the answering service, and I was very, very impressed with the caring way she spoke to me.  She gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her anytime that night if it got worse.  It didn't, but it did make me realize that I should have given some of the other surgeons in that group a chance before jumping on Dr. Lavin to do the surgery.

I have a friend who had surgery last month and her doctor is Dr. Moore. She is very pleased. If you want to write her let me know. :)

Hi,  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Moore!  She was great.  I did have to call in for an infected incision and talked to Dr. Redman.  He was also very nice.  He talked to me alot and asked lots of questions.  He seemed very concerned and genuine.  Dr Moore was awesome.  I had NO pain after surgery.  I left the next day and I feel like she did an awesome job.  She was very nice in my consultation visit and didnt rush us out.  She was very thorough and answered all my hubbys stupid questions with a smile.  I would recommend her to everyone!  Good luck!

Thank you so much for sharing about Dr. Moore.  I have to pick between those two docs.  Who was the surgeon helping her with your surgery if you don't mind me asking?  Keep up the good work. And by the way I am not officially approved yet but I looked at your starting measurements and weight and mine are the exact same as yours.  I feel it is fate that I got to talk to you.  I really can be inspired by someone that I can relate to.      Thank you and Blessings

That is so strange and exciting.  It was meant for us to talk.  LOL  I just know you will get approved and everything will work out just fine.  You can do this, stay positive!  I am actually not sure who helped her with surgery b/c I was out before I went into the OR.  Its a good question, now that you asked.  LOL  Please ask away, I am more than willing to help you if I can.  I dont think you would be disappointed with Dr. Moore.  She is wonderful.  Keep me posted on your progress!

Have you called Cigna about Dr. Lavin?  I am surprised that an insurance would have 2 members of a group and not all of the group.  Dr. Lavin was my surgeon and he is awesome.  But I'm sure that all of the group are great.  I have not heard anything negative about any of the group.

I have to agree with Lynn. It seems rather odd that Cigna would only list 2 of the surgeons within a large practice such as Surgical Specialists of Louisiana. I also suggest that you call and ask about Dr. Lavin. Of course, I'm jaded because he was my surgeon as well.
