I have been a long time lurker on various boards, and it now feels like I should try to be more active in my posting. . .  With that said. . .Hello, I'm a WLS graduate living in Hammond. My RNY surgery, performed by Tom Lavin, was November 14th, 2005.  I had a starting weight of 437 lbs., and I have since lost around 250lbs.  While the support from "civilians" is always nice and appreciated, no one can empathize with you like fellow WLS patients.  Many thanks go to all of you who have been diligently posting and, unknowlingly, helping this gal while I learn to adjust to my new life. ~Erin

84 lbs. in 3 months!!!  How quickly your life must be changing. . .  Keep on walking, keep on setting those personal goals, keep on learning about "who" you are throughout this process.  Congratulations. . . ~Erin

Wow your weight lost is great!

I will be 2 years out on the 29th of this month.  I lost 157lbs.  Then I got pregnant and gained 28lbs.  As soon as I had my little one I lost 14lbs and since then I have lost another 10 so I'm only 4lbs away from pre pregnacy weight.

I like that "civilians" , your right noone knows better than those of us who have been there.

Tina

Tina:   A new life for your baby and you. . .  That is one thing I am trying to wrap my brain around; there isn't an end point with WLS.  Life goes on, and our bodies continue to change long after the 18 month magical window.  Congratulations continuing yours. . . ~Erin

Congratulation's on your weight loss, I had my surgery on May 7th, before surgery I loss 114 pounds on the special diet the doc put me on and seeing the Lymphedema specialist for my legs. Since surgery I have lost 67 pounds. I started my weight loss journey on June 1st, 2006. I know I can lose the weight I still need to lose, you just proved it to me. Oh I started at 479, so I am down to 298 as of yesterday at the doctor.

Brenie:   Yes, those of us that started in the 400's know a thing or two about weight-related immobility. . .congratulations for reclaiming your life!  It is an infinite commitment you have made.  180 lbs. weightloss is fantastic, and you should be proud of your accomplishments.   How is your lyphedema?  Are you seeing improvements? ~Erin
