OK yall.  I am a week out of surgery and it makes me sick to even look at broth.  Does anyone have any other suggestions.  Does anyone know the 2 week post op diet?

It may be a little early but talk to your doc and see if you can have creamed stuff yet.   If you haven't had any complications with eating and you feel OK they may let you try it as long as you are getting your daily protein requirement in.   Cream of was my savior a few weeks after surgery.   That and string cheese.  :)

I made a pot of gumbo and only at the liquid off it. It was very tasty.  But I was a bit daring. Ask your nutritionist

Your best bet is to contact your doctors office for advice since all doctors have different protocol.  I know some people leave the hospital eating, I left on clear liquids for two weeks then went on the full liquids for another 4 weeks.  I think Dr. Barnes and Merriman have pretty much the same post op protocol and I have to say it is one of the toughest I have seen but it is so well worth it.  Remember this is only two weeks and if you have to go on 4 weeks full liquid it is a small price to pay for the results you want.  There is plenty of things beside broth that you can have.  I went between diluted fruit juice (really diluted) popsicles, jello.   Hang in there....

I too after a week was tired of liquids. I am now post-op 3 months and can eat just about anything. Keep your mind set and follow the doctor's orders, and I can promise you it will get better and soon! Tie

I was told by my doctor's office, I could have sugar free jello, sugar free popcycles, etc. But I do know we have to be careful and make sure we get protein in too.

Ive tried the SF Jello and it didnt settle well with my tummy.  The posickles always melt before I can eat it all.  I have tried to do some protein drinks like the High Protein Slim Fast but my tummy doesnt handle that too well wither.  Now I am on the 2weeks post op solid liquids diet.  Its like the liquid diet will never end HA.  6 weeks of it all together.  I can eat oatmeal and mashed potatoes now but you can only eat so much before you get tired of it.
