Does anyone know of any doctors in Louisiana that is taking Medicaid for Gastric Bypass anymore?  I had mine done jan of last year by dr ordoyne in covington, he was the best.  My aunt lives in Lake Charles and needs to have the surgery.  But is willing to travel if need to be to have the surgery.  I beleive Dr. Chung accepts mcd, but she has not heard too many good things about him.  If anyone has any info,  please share it!  Thanks and have a good night!!! I have surgery with Dr Chung, and I have nothing but compliments with regard  to his skill and after care.  He spent a lot of time with his patients, including monthly support groups.  That is why his office is quite busy, because I tell all my friends who wanted surgery to go to him.  Maybe your aunt  should do her own research.  Dr Chung appears to have more feedback than any other surgeon in Louisiana, and they are all very happy with his care, and so am I.  I don't believe he takes Medicaid, and I don't believe anyone in Louisiana either.  Hope I am wrong.   Jen

Check on Dr. Richardson at Ochsner Hospital in Metairie. I'm thinking that he said they did accept Medicaid. At the seminar he said that Medicaid is one of the best payers, but I'm not positive if he was saying that because accepts it. It won't hurt to give him a call. He's a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Chung just did my surgery on 8/7/07 and he is an awesome Dr.  I have no complaints about him at all.. I would recommend him to anyone.  I think that Dr. Chu in Lafayette takes medicaid. But I am not for sure.  She may just have to call all the bariatic surgeons in louisiana and ask.   Hope this helps. Anna

Dr. Richardson does not accept Medicaid he does accept medicare though. When asked at the seminar that I went to if he accepted medicaid and he said no half the people just got up and walked out of the seminar.
