Dr Chung ..gimme the low-down

Ok I want to know all the good, the bad, and the ugly....I really liked him when I met him. I am planning the have the vertical sleeve, but have not set a date yet.  I have not heard a lot of bad things about him, but I wanted to know as much as I can.  I also wanted some feedback on the vertical sleeve, I know it is not as popular as the Lap-band, but I think it is the right choice for me...TIA for all of your feedback!!! one of my buddys had a lap band done by dr chung . he realy thinks that he is a GOD. hehad his band on 05/04/07 he has lost 70 lb.at the cost of 14,000.00$ i had the sleeve done in baton rouge  05/02/07 i lost 70 lb. at the cost of 11,900.00 $ this the best money i ever  spent in my life.my dr is not GOD but hes close.  you need to find out how many sleeves he has done.one way to know if he knows what hes doing is to find out if he leaves a drain tube in you after surgery.      good luck

If you dont mind my asking...who was your dr in baton rouge??   I know that Dr Chung does leave a drain in after...are their some that dont?? Chung has not performed many sleeves so that is why I am asking about him here....I really liked him but am someone concerned about the number of these he has done!  So you are happy with your Dr??  Sorry so many questions =) Jennifer

Hey!  I have my appt with Dr. Chung on Aug 29 to schedule the sleeve.  I went to see him last week all ready to have the band but due to my PCOS and other metabolic syndrome, he HIGHLY suggested the sleeve and wanted me to do some research.  I did a shout out to people on the VSG board and have heard nothing bad.  My friend had her lapband by Chung about 6 wks ago and she loves him.  Another friend had lapband by Dr. Spiegel and it slipped and his office would never call her back and just leave her messages that she was eating too much or too fast.  Anyway, long story short, she almosted died with a intestine blockage and Dr. Chung and Dr. Shimer opened her up and saved her life.  She loves both of them.  When is your appt w/Chung?

My apt is the same day!  I have begged to get it moved up but they have very few cancellations...so I just have to wait..LOL Once you make the decision to have it..(or at least I am like this) I want it done yesterday.....

ME TOO!!!!  I just called to see if they had any cancellations for next week!!!!!  What time is your appt? Mine is at 9:00 am.  Maybe we will be Sleevers together!!!
