I need information!!!!

Anyone that has used Dr. Richardson have any information on exactly they want in the letter from the PCP clearing you for surgery. I was just informed that my PCP is out of town til August 30 and my surgery is Sept 5 and the nurse at the office just told me there is no way i will get my clearance letter before my surgery date which means that  I am most probley not going to have my surgery on Sept 5. I am freaking out right now.

Hey, you!  Is your PCP also at Ochsner or does he have other doctors with him in his practice?  If not, I would contact Melissa and get the name of a PCP at Ochsner who can do this for  you.  Don't freak - GET IT DONE!

I have to use the military PCP because of my insurance. I have no choice in who my primary is and I can not change it unless I go through a big huge ordeal with the military and it can take up to 2 months to get it changed. I gave them the number to Ochsner and asked for them to call and explain that my PCP gave clearance for the surgery when she put in the referral because she requested that I have the surgery.

Well the oh so wonderful military treatment facility decided to allow me to see another  dr since mine is out of town for so long so i will go there tomorrow morning and see what he says. They had Dr. Richardson's nurse fax all my tests and everything over there to him so he should not have any reason not to just write me a note saying i am healthy and cleared for surgery.  Im crossing my fingers it is going to be that easy but i have a list of Dr's at Ochsner that accept my insurance and they are listed as internal medicine so I am hoping that if my PCP will not clear me we can work it around for me to see one a Ochsner that will clear me.
