Dr. Colleen Kennedy moving to Texas
I was upset about it when I heard a few weeks ago. But then I talked to "Daydream Believer" who is Dr. Richardson's patient, and I feel a lot better about having to see him. She said he takes his time and really talks to you. I just had a bad impression of him from the seminar, but she said he's just not good at talking to groups, but he's better one-on-one. Don't give up on the surgery because of this! Jen
FYI: I was a Richardson patient.... and I was a postop care nurse on the bariatric unit for a year first (moved to TX too)... I'm quite impressed at his skill, both as a professional and as a patient!! He's a quiet type guy, but he's got a great personality, give yourself a chance to get to know him one on one... he sat and held my hand while I cried (after a denial) and I just adore him....
He did my gallbladder surgery in 2005, and then did my RNY March 2007. I'm now 3.5 months postop and down 75 lbs!! That's **5** sizes!!
You should see me now!
Dr. Richardson is much better one on one. He's never rushed me through an appointment, and he answers every question I have, and then asks if I have anymore.
I had a very hard time after surgery with the anestesia. My wls was no problem at all. Dr. Richardson took the best care of me while I was in the hospital for 10 days. He's a good guy and truly cares about his patients. You can't go wrong with Dr. Richardson, Laura the NUT, and all of his awesome staff.
