Starting Preop Liquid Diet Today only 14 days left
till I join you guys on the loser's bench, I am so excited to start the liquid diet, it is only my first morning so I know it might get rough but I will make it because I am determined to make it and get healthier and lose this weight. Thanks for all the support ya'll have given to me and for all the support I know I will get from ya'll in the near future. I have had so many on here to inspire me to continue this to mention everyone but Thank you for all of you.
This part can get tough.... for my experience I chose Wylers seasoned chicken boullion to make chicken broth.... it's got herbs and garlic and is a LOT more palatable than the plain stuffs Good Luck!!
Don't forget, if you get the EAS Advant Edge (silver box) protein drinks, you can have those too.... Dr Richardson & dietician allowed clear liquids and THAT brand only of protein drinks for me. They're just a bit thicker and can help give some "satisified" feeling.
Stick in there... they CAN tell if you don't stick to the diet.
Hey Sabrina,
Write down what your doing for your liquid diet calorie wise and protein. Laura will want to see it on your visit.
And also they now allow alot more brands of Protein Drinks. Just check out the list she gave you on your last visit.
Chicken broth has been the best thing for me in the evenings. I have chicken broth doctored up w/ spices etc for dinner.... I need that hot meal in the evening. Since all day i have been drinking cold liquids all day. It helps me from going crazy.
Good luck to you and i will talk to you later,
Michele
I did a liquid diet for 3 weeks before my surgery. It was not NEARLY as difficult as I thought it would be. I ate the Lipton Cup-a soup (broccoli-cheese and chicken and rice). I liked the Protein drinks that I tried, but I too needed something "hot" at least once daily. I felt more like I was eating a "meal" that way. Some of the protein powders can be mixed with coffee. As long as you stir the liquid in slowly and it is not toooo hot.
You can do this!! It will be over before you know it and you will be sooooooo much better, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Stay on the boards and let us know how you are coming along.
Hugs, Piggybabe
