Hi there, I am new to this forum. I am researching, but planning on the RNY. Is there anyone else out there from Shreveport or somewhere in the neighborhood?

Welcome Judi, I am right in your neighborhood. I had my surgery a year ago December by Dr. Merriman. This was the best thing I have done in my life. Hi there! I am in Shreveport. I am usually on the VSG board. I guess I forgot about the local boards. I had the Gastric Sleeve one week ago today!!! I used Dr. Drake Bellanger in Baton Rouge. He is great. I am not sure if anyone in Shreveport is doing the sleeve yet. I have a friend that used Dr. Merrimen for her RNY and was very pleased.

I am looking into having the DS. The one thing that is holding me back, I am looking for a Dr. who will except medicare. I have looked into every type of bariatric operation. To me the sleeve or the DS seems the way to go. I live in Longview I have been looking in Shreveport for a Dr.

Hi, I'm local. Who's your dr? I would be glad to share with you if you'd like. There use to be a great support group on Live Ave. I haven't been to one of their meetings in several years so I don't know if it still exists. Pls. write and we'll talk and see about meeting. :)
