Just curious who has used Dr. Karl Leblanc in Baton Rouge? I has my consult was Wednesday and it went great. I was just curious how your experience went. Also, does anyone have United Health Care? If so how did your approval process work and how fast? Any Help would be great! Anna Molan

I'm in Metairie, so I don't know anything about Dr. Leblanc. I do have UnitedHealth Care. They didn't give me any problems at all. I don't have any other problems like high blood pressure, etc., the only co-morbidity I have is severe joint pain. However, all insurance companies can exclude weight loss surgery from company to company. The first thing my surgeon had me do is call my insurance company to ask them if WLS was an included benefit. Dianna- Thanks for the info. I am thankful I did not have to call and deal with the insurance company at all. Dr. Leblanc's office is handling everything. It is a covered service, I just have to have 5 years of medical records showing I have been morbid obese for those years. The patient services rep at his office said anything should go soothly! I hope so. I have to go back to Baton Rouge on the 25th for a Barium Swallow upper GI, see the NUT, and have labs done and also see the Physicologist. So I am on my way. Thanks for the response!
