I had RNY in Dec of 2003. Up until about a year ago I was fine. I weighed 245 prior to my surgery and my lowest was 147. I started to gain weight and about 11 months ago I went to have an upper G.I. just to make sure I didn't have stapleline failure. They said everything was fine. byy that time I had gained 20 pounds. I am now up to 193 and I can't seem to get full. I don't have a job or insurance to get it checked out again. What can I do?

Lisa, I'm still pre-op, but from everything I've read, everyone says to go back to the basics. Start drinking liquids and protein shakes, and drinking lots of water, just like when you first got your surgery. Make sure you're taking vitamins too. Good luck. You know how to do this, and you have a small stoma to help you through the process again. Dianna

Hi Dianna, What kind of protein shake should I drink? I will try this and see if it works. Thank you so much. Lisa

Hi Dianna, Just to let you know that I have taken your advice and it is working. I have lost 17 lbs in less than 3 weeks. I really appreciate it. Thanks so much, Lisa

Girl I am in the SAME boat as you,, I am only like 14 months out too, and am eating EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING, I mean I can eat/drink anything, it scares me that I can do that, plus I can get full but not until I eat as much as my girlfriend does,.. which is a pretty good bit,, I got dilated after my intial surgery cause I had alot of scar tissue, I am afraid I got dilated too much, cause since then I can't get full and can't stop eating so much,, Yea going back to basic's is GREAT choice, but I can't do that,, I wil die! lmao ,, of I feel I will,, let me know what helps you please! good luck

Ashleigh, I had the same thing done. I had gotten down to 147 and I was not able to keep anything down. I was vomiting up everything. I had my stoma dialated too and I think it was dialated too much. I guess I will try it to see how it goes. I will let you know.

Hi, Lisa. I'm not yet 9 months out, but my weight loss has slowed to a crawl. I'm trying to stick to a very low carb diet with lots of lean, dense protein (chicken, meat, etc.) and go back to the gym. Hope that helps!
